Flaxseed, or linseed, is one of the best sources of fiber, essential for the proper functioning of the digestive tract. Flaxseed also provides omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are especially recommended during pregnancy. It also contains numerous micro- and macronutrients, as well as protein and amino acids. For this reason, flax seeds are included in the group of so-called “flax seeds”. superfoods, or natural foods that provide the body with a wide variety of nutrients.

Flaxseed is most often consumed in the form of seeds used in salads or the recently popular bowels, or drunk after soaking in water. Pregnant women turn to flaxseed most often when they experience bothersome constipation, heartburn or nausea. The fiber content makes the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract, which is slowed down during pregnancy, accelerate and these complaints can be reduced.

Ground flaxseed can also be used in baked goods such as bread. Some people also use it in cooking as an egg substitute in various vegetable cutlets and in a form similar to breadcrumbs.

Flaxseed has also found its way into hair cosmetics. Recently, it has become increasingly popular to make a hair mask on your own, known as a “hair mask. Flax gluten, which has, among other things. moisturizing and softening properties.

Flaxseed-is it safe during pregnancy?

Any homemade and natural methods that a mother-to-be plans to use should always be consulted with a gynecologist. Flaxseed has no proven negative effects on the development of pregnancy and the baby, but its possible side effects should be kept in mind. These include, for example, diarrhea that occurs when too much hay is consumed. Besides, flaxseed also absorbs water very well, so if you consume raw seeds, take care to hydrate properly. It is also a good idea to always buy products from trusted organic places, so that the grains are not further contaminated.
